The Books Along the Teche Literary Festival invites you to the Bouligny Plaza Steamboat Pavilion in New Iberia at 5:30 on Saturday, April 11 as we bring to life the themes from the afternoon Swamp Sounds panel presentation with Shane Bernard, Herman Fuselier, and Philip Gould (2:00-3:20 PM, Sliman Theater).

The evening will feature a headline performance by Grammy-nominated The Revelers, one of Louisiana’s most electrifying and beloved Cajun and Creole bands.  Before the music takes over at 6:30 pm, you will have the opportunity to learn the moves with Cajun dance lessons at 5:30 led by Britlyn Delahoussaye, ensuring that no one is left on the sidelines when the band strikes up. Adding an extra dash of excitement to the evening, Swamp Sounds will feature a dance competition judged by the incomparable Yvette Landry and Kallie Landry.

Beginning April 1, admission tickets to Swamp Sounds are only $15$ — use discount code SPRING10 — (additional entry fee per couple for the dance competition).

The full festival has a lot of really interesting sessions.  The schedule is found here:

Only three events are ticketed — all of the festival presentations and panels are completely free and open to the public.  Rick Bragg is our Great Southern Writer, and even his 1.5 hour symposium on Saturday is free!
