Trouble Down Teche — Live at The Whirlybird

Friday, March 6
Doors at 6 PM — cash bar + Chef Jolie Meaux is cooking!  It was Grant’s birthday this week – so CAKE
Music around 7 PM

We’re clearing the floor and lettin’ the wood breathe after Lundi Gras.

Trouble Down Teche is rollin’ in from Lafayette with a trunk full of Blues and Boogie — the kind that starts in Chicago, cuts through The Delta, swings through Kansas City, slides down the West Coast… and lands right here in the outback prairie of St. Landry Parish like it never left home.

Y’all, this ain’t background music.

This is move-the-tables, shuffle-your-feet, open-your-heart, sweat-through-your-shirt Blues.

Four players. No shortcuts. Deep groove. Heavy pocket. Harmonica that bites. Guitar that talks back. Bass that don’t blink. Drums that mean it. Badass as it gets, y’all.

At The Whirlybird, that Blues sound hits different.
Low wooden ceiling. Close crowd. Intimate dance floor that remembers things.

At The Bird, don’t come to watch this band.
Come to get pulled into it.

Doors at 6.
Bar’s open. Mama’s cookin’. Floor’s ready.

Let’s tear it up.

Trouble Down Teche:
Trey Boudreaux — bass
Daniel Coolik — guitar
Grant Dermody — harmonica & vocals
Danny Devillier — drums

“The Blues is like a planet. It’s an enormous topic. You can’t ignore the impact that it has had and continues to have on the whole musical culture.” — Wynton Marsalis

Sooo… come get you some. And help celebrate Grant Dermody’s birthday (the 3rd of March) with Jolie Meaux’s famous cuisine! And a big-ass carrot cake!
